Koreans love coffee, which is why you see coffee shops EVERYWHERE. But they have have coffee shops with different themes to make them stand out. So, I made it one of my missions to visit as many "theme" cafes as I can and so far i'm doing pretty good. I've made a list of cafes I think are pretty popular here in Seoul.

Zoo coffee

This cafe offers more of a jungle theme, with monkeys hanging from trees. This cafe is a franchise you can find it everywhere throughout Seoul.

Thanks Nature Cafe

The only cafe you will ever visit with live sheep. Of course the sheep are in their own little area for sanitary reasons but you can go inside to pet them or take selfies. Sometimes they are allowed out to wander around. Make sure you order yourself a drink if you are going to be visiting with the sheep.

Hello Kitty Cafe

There are two Hello Kitty Cafe locations: One in Hongdae and one in Sinchon. The one in Hongdae has moved to a new location and is brand new. But the one in Sinchon is a lot more quieter. Anyways if you love girly things are Hello Kitty go have a drink there. Be aware, you are paying for the experience no the quality.

Raintree

Rain Tree is one of the coziest cafes I have been to. This cafe feels like you are on a camping trip because of the pillowed seating on the floor. There are privacy drapes to make it more intimate. You can also go through the owners photo albums to see all the places they have travelled to, which is where most of the trinkets in the cafe come from.

Afternoon tea cafe

I love tea! I have been drinking tea since I was young. I've always wanted to go dress up and have high tea but since I haven't yet I did the next best thing. This cafe is very vintage, there is so much antique chinaware, make sure to check it out.  The menu is extensive, as they have tea from all over the world.

Holly's Coffee

Holly's coffee is a franchise which makes it easy to find. Walking into this cafe is like taking a trip to Greece with the white washed walls and stone steps. Don't forgot to sign your name on the walls before you leave.

Banana tree

Okay, one thing I will tell is you is that I HATE cotton candy. But, I came to this cafe for the cotton candy latte which tell you how bad I wanted to come to this cafe. The flower pot dessert is pretty good, I had strawberry and finished it in like 2 mins. It is a very small cafe so try to get there early or else you will have no where to sit. You can't get these drinks and desserts anywhere else!!

Cafe talk

Being an expat in Korea, Kakao Talk is the app you use the most. It's like the Korean Whatsapp, so visiting the cafe is a big deal. Kakao has it's own characters that people love, you see them everywhere. This cafe has a Kakao gift shop. The coffee isn't the greatest, but I don't go to the cafes for the quality anyways.

Dog cafe

Why go to a normal dog cafe when you can see dogs ride skateboard and answer math questions. Puppy Spoon has breeds of dogs you don't see often as well as well trained dogs who can do interesting tricks. The best dog cafe I have seen or heard of!

Mustoy

This cafe is meant for those who are artistic and creative. Located in Hongdae, this is one of the most unique cafes I have been too. It gets packed very quickly as it's a popular date spot. Don't worry if you don't speak Korean, the owner speaks English and will give you instructions on what to do. Be prepared to pay 15-20,000 for your own creation, but you do get a free drink!

Agreable Flower & Cafe

Love flowers? Visit Agreable flower & cafe. They have a great selection of coffee and also lots of plants and flowers for purchase or looking. They even have flower arrangement classes.

Picture

Caface

Who doesn't like taking selfies? At Caface you can take a selfie and put it on your coffee!

Picture

Blind Alley

Blind Alley is a raccoon cafe. The raccoon's are actually pretty gentle. If you get bored of the dog and cat cafes and want something a bit more exciting then visit Blind Alley.

Picture

Boardgame Cafe

Boardgame cafes are a great place to hang out with friends or go on a date. They are very casual, really fun and very cheap! You can find these literally anywhere in Korea.

Healing Cafe

In desperate need of a body massage? Don't want to pay hundreds to get a massage at a spa? Visit one of the many healing cafes throughout Korea. You won't pay more than 10,000 won but you'll feel good after!
