Cherry Blossom Festival

You only get to see cherry blossoms once a year, which is why it's such a huge festival. Yes, cherry blossoms originated from Japan but they are seen in lots of other countries. There are a variety of different cherry blossom colours to see. This usually happens the end of March- beginning of April. There is lots of entertainment, cherry blossoms and people! Click for more info.

Lotus Lantern Festival

Every year there is a lotus lantern festival to honor Buddha. His birthday, in May, is actually a holiday in Korea. During the festival there are a whole bunch of lantern events to watch and take part of. Around this time you will see paper lanterns hanging all over Korea. Click for more info.

Boseong Green Tea festival

Now, I haven't actually been to this festival. I plan to go to the green tea field in June. But, I don't want to deal with crowds because I like to have my own little photo shoot sessions. But this is supposed to be a very scenic plantation. Here you can try green tea and walk through the fields. It may be far to get to but I hear it is worth it. Activities include making tea, picking green tea leaves, trying green tea snacks, etc. Look out for my photos here! Click for more info.

Who doesn't love bamboo? It's very strong and beautiful to look at. I missed this festival because I was on another excursion. But I will still visit this place anyways. At the festival you can take part in activities like log rafting and water bicycling. Or just walk through the bamboo trees. Click for more info.

Boryeong Mud Festival

I'm so happy to say that I will actually be attending the Boryeong mud festival this year. I didn't go last year because I hear people's negative opinions about it and based my decisions off of them. But since this is my last year in Korea I really want to experience it for myself. Plus I hear the mud is great for your skin. This festival is huge. People cover themselves in mud from head to toe and just party on the beach. There are activities like mud wrestling, mud sliding, mud tub and swimming. For those of you, like me, who do not want to get covered in mud you can simply just watch. Click for more info.

Muju Firefly festival

I think I am the most excited for this festival. I wanted to go last year but I was really afraid to go alone. After I started to do more things on my own I realized I should have went. This year I am. It's at the end of summer this year. Last year is was at the beginning. Last year over 75 million people went! Crazy right. It must be a great festival. I mean where else can you really see fireflies. They even wrote about this festival on CNN's travel website. Click for more info.
