Millennials go to Miami for ONE reason and ONE reason only– Partying! I guess when you’re young it’s the thing to do, heck that’s what I did in my early 20’s. However, Miami has so much more to offer than just drinking and partying everyday. Here are some suggestions on things you can do while in The Magic City:

Wynwood Walls
A unique outdoor neighbourhood showcasing vibrant street murals, Wynwood Falls has attracted artists from all over the world to display their graffiti. In recent years this neighbourhood has become especially popular thanks to social media. Make sure to check it out before it goes away.

City centers are always a great place to visit as they have many attractions. Along the riverfront there are great restaurants with patios overlooking the water. There are tons of historic buildings to discover. You can even just go for a walk along the river, watch out for the large iguanas!

Everglades
A trip to Florida is not complete unless you see some gators! The Everglades is outside of Miami but well worth the trip to see some gators up close and personal. Make sure to get a tour package, they include pick up and drop off to and from your hotel; some even offer lunch.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden
With 2.6 acres of green space, Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a relaxing beautiful urban oasis. They have plenty of cultural and artistic activities for you to participate in. They also have recently undergone a renovation so the garden has a lot more to discover.
South Beach
South Beach has a lot of attractions. There are great shopping districts like Lincoln Road and Washington Ave. There are amazing restaurants along Ocean Drive that offer great happy hour specials and yummy cocktails. Or you can soak up the sun laying on the beach. Head over to Mango’s for live Latin music and dancing.

Speed Boat Tour
Ever wanted to see where celebrities live? Well, there are tours that offer the ultimate celebrity sightseeing experience through places like Star Island and Fisher Island. These islands are not accessible to the public, so taking a boat tour is the only way to see them.

Helicopter Tour
If you are like me and have never been in a helicopter, Miami is the place to do it. There are many tour groups that offer helicopter rides with a Birdseye view of Miami. Instead of bringing along your drone to take pictures why not take a helicopter ride!

Key Biscayne
Located south of Miami Beach and east of Miami, Key Biscayne is a beautiful secluded island. This island is a lot more relaxed and picturesque. There are tons of fresh seafood restaurants and small boutiques to explore.

Bal Harbour
Looking for the ultimate luxury shopping experience? Then this is the place for you! Bal Harbour is at the northern tip of Miami Beach. This area is frequented by the rich and famous because of the high end shopping malls and boutiques. In this area, expect nothing less than an upscale experience. If you are not into the luxury experience, Bal Harbour is still a great place to walk around and explore.

When you think of Miami, you may picture beautiful pastel coloured buildings. Those are the art deco buildings. For the best art deco structures visit Collins Ave or Ocean Dr.

Cigar Rolling
Whilst you may have been to Cuba, many people (like me) still have not. Miami has a neighbourhood called Little Havana that gives you all things Cooba! Now you may not smoke cigars, because they taste nasty, but rolling your own cigars can be quite fun. Cigars also make for a great gift! Even if you don’t want to roll your own, you can go cigar shopping.
