20 Fenchurch Street aka Walkie-Talkie opened in 2015 and is a commercial skyscraper. The nickname, Walkie-Talkie comes from the architectural shape of the building. On the 35th floor is Sky Garden; a three storey public garden, open terrace, restuarant and bar with a 360 degree view of the city. Here are some reasons why you should add this on to your London Itinerary.

First, it's FREE!

Travelling can be quite expensive depending on your taste and it doesn't help that London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. As a traveller, you want to visit all the major sights which can be hard because you have to shell out tons of cash for most attractions which turn out to be mediocre. It's even harder when you are visiting more than one country and trying to decide what sights are the most important to spend your money on. That is why Sky Garden is a must see, you pay absolutely nothing! All you have to do is go on their website and reserve your free ticket at the time slot you want and voila, you get your ticket! Keep it mind there are a certain amount of tickets available per day and there is a time limit with each ticket. Check the website for more info.

#2 The Views

Like I mentioned before, Sky Garden has a 360 degree view of the city which is uninterrupted. It may not be the tallest building in the city but it is located in a great spot which allows you to view places like The Shard, Tower Bridge, City Hall and more!

#3 Greenspace

The landscape at Sky Garden is by award-winning landscape architects, Gillespies. A lot of the plants are drought resistant species from the Mediterranean and Africa. They also have plants like French Lavender, Rosemary, African Lily and many more species of flowers and plants.

#4 The Food & Drinks

Sky Garden has two bars; City Garden Bar and Sky Pod Bar. They also have three restaurants; Fenchurch Restaurant, Fenchurch Terrace and Darwin Brasserie. As you could imagine, these places are typical London prices, if not a little higher because of the venue. However, the food at Darwin is very delicious and the view is amazing!

#5 No Crowding

Unlike most popular attractions in London, Sky Garden is not crowded. Since visitors need to book time slots and have a time limit to visit Sky Garden, there are no large crowds to fight through. This makes a large difference, as the venue is more relaxing, since there is no fighting to get space to take your photos. It makes the experience a lot more pleasant without the crowds.

#6 Location

Sky Garden is in a very convenient area. Some attractions close by are Tower Bridge, London Bridge, The Shard, Leadenhall Market, St. Dunstan and more! These places are all within walking distance from Sky Garden, so you can walk around after you are finished at Sky Garden.
