Kervan is a Halal Turkish Restaurant in Itaewon. I've seen a lot of reviews on this restaurant and have been meaning to visit. I finally ended up going with Sarah this weekend. When we first walked into the restaurant we were amazed at the way it looked. They have so many chandeliers and Turkish lamps hanging from the ceiling. On the walls they have this really nice tiles. It was also packed, I think we came in right at dinner time but lucky were seated right away. They have an extensive menu with more than 10 main dishes which are great to share with a big group. I ordered yogurt marinated chicken steak kebab and Sarah ordered the lamb kebabs. With our order we also got soup and Turkish bread. the bread was so soft and went really well with the soup. The soup was a tomato lentil soup and was really good. The food came out pretty fast. I tried to order a main dish that looked the largest but I didn't think it would be this big. It cost 21,000 won. The chicken was amazing. The seasoning on it was so good I've been thinking about it even since. It's definitely one of the best dishes I've had in Korea. It came with a side of rice pilaf, fries, onions, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. There were also three sauces on the plate; tzatziki (which I love), one sauce was like a salsa and the other was a seasoned tomato sauce. Of course tzatziki was the best. Overall, I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food was amazing the service was good. If you decide to visit make sure not to go around the general lunch time because you may have to wait for a table. At lunch time the have discounted lunch sized dishes that are cheaper.
Directions: Take Line 6 (Brown Line) to Itaewon. Take Exit #3 and go straight past the Hamilton Hotel. Kervan is just past Starbucks on the 2nd floor.
