Restaurant: Witch's Kitchen

It's so nice to get back to my weekend exploration routine. I definitely felt like I had been lacking for the past couple of months. I haven't been to any theme places in awhile, which is my forte. This weekend Jung and I planned to go to a restaurant called Witch's Kitchen. It is supposed to be a witch themed restaurant, and I love theme places. It is located on the Gangnam food street and is very easy to find. The restaurant is located in the basement floor.

Once you go down the stairs you can see these spiders on the left side
Once you walk into the foyer of the restaurant, this picture just bogs your mind..... Do they even understand what this image means? I doubt it! Korea is known for having the most inappropriate things on shirts, hats, bags, etc.

Hurl?!
The wait time was about 20 mins, which I didn't mind at all. In the foyer area they half had the legs of a witch on the side of the wall. After our time was up they brought us to our seats. I was so surprised at the décor. It wasn't what I really expected. It was really dark and the décor was a little strange. It had witchy stuff but then had things like Christmas trees and IV drips.

Each table had a lamp with a witch's hat on it.

The menu wasn't very extensive. There was pizza, pasta, salads and I think one meat dish to choose from. I went for the garlic shrimp in cream sauce. I think it cost about 14k won which wasn't bad. It was really delicious and had a bit of a spicy kick to it. There were about four shrimps but they were pretty big. Something I notice about pasta in Korea is that the cream sauces are not as thick and heavy as they are in North America. I actually like pasta here better for that reason.

Mmm, so yummy
To drink, I also ordered a cocktail. On the menu it is called ringer cocktail, which is the IV drink drinks. Even though IV drips have to do with hospitals and not witches I wanted one anyways. It was 7k won and I ordered green which tasted like a melon. It was actually a lot, I struggled to finish it.

At the back of the restaurant they have a table with masks, witch hats and ears that you can try on. There are also photos on the wall of "witches" and some castles.

We took some pictures with cat ears, witch hats and even some masks.

Towards the front of the restaurant there is a book shelf with glass jars and other witchy stuff. I think they made a good effort with the décor but some of it was a little off. If they had more of these things around the restaurant it would have been better.

By the cash desk there is a little zombie and it looks like he's coming out of the floor. Not really a witch thing. But I think the décor is more Halloween than witch themed.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food I had was delicious, the décor was interesting. It was not too pricy. I just love themed restaurants and cafes I think they are so much fun. If you are in Seoul check it out. The address is 818-14, Gangnam-gu, Yeoksam 1 il- dong. Below is a map incase you need directions.
