Restaurant Review: The Glamping Restaurant         더 글램핑

I randomly came across this post on FB about a restaurant in Seoul called "The Glamping". Koreans are big on camping, but with style, so they don't like to stay in regular tents. The tents they use have like multiple little bedrooms and space for a living area, which is how they came up with glamping. This restaurant is located in Itaewon where you can find most of the worldly kinds of food. They serve seafood as well as BBQ foods, so you feel like you're actually camping.

Second floor of the Glamping
When you first walk in you are asked if you made reservations, if not they will take you to the second floor. But if you do make reservations you get to stay on the first floor. The first floor looked a lot more comfortable and has such a fun atmosphere. But I had no idea you had to make reservations for that. To visit the website click here

We were seated on the second floor. I was amazed at how big this place was, it actually has 4 floors. The third is a bar and 4th is another tent. On the second floor there are two separate seating areas which you have to go outside to get to. In between these seating areas they have a tent where you can also sit and eat, but you have to make reservations. It kind of sucked because we came just after they opened, around 1pm, so the whole place was empty.

We ordered set C, which is meant for 3-4 people. This place is pretty expensive, our meal was 98k just for our BBQ set. It came with shrimp, lobster, grilled veggies, salad, two different types of beef and pork, sausage, buns and scallops served on an actual BBQ. Click here to see the complete menu.

Our food
I love the concept of this restaurant and the food, but I was actually disappointed with the portion sizes. If I had come with 4 instead of 3 people we would have had next to no food. There is an option to order sides, but we didn't think we would need to since the set we ordered said it was good for 3-4 people. But I would definitely love to go there again, this time later at night. The Glamping is open til 2am most nights and it would feel more like a camping trip in the outdoors with minimal lights.
