All summer my co-workers and I have been saying we would go to a sporting event, preferably baseball since there really wasn't anything else. But every weekend something came up or we worked too many hours and were tired. This weekend we FINALLY decided to go to a game. We saw the LG Twins vs. Doosun Bears, both Seoul based teams. We decided not to buy tickets online, but instead buy them at the door. Bad idea, all tickets were sold out! We ended up buying from a scalper for triple the price.... only 30,000 won ($30). We could have saved 20,000 won. But we had really good seats. If we had these seats in North America we probably would have paid $100 and up.
Before today, I had only ever been to one other baseball game which I thought was utterly boring. I didn't know anything about both the Twins or Bears. But the seats we got were in the section with all the Twins' fans. So we just decided we'll cheer for them because we were sitting in this section. Drinks were very cheap, beer on tap was 3,000 won ($3). We ending up getting three rounds since it was so cheap. They even had the Korean convenience store inside the stadium where you could go buy your own beer or other drinks and snack. I love this idea. No one wants to go to sporting events and spend so much money!
Some of these fans were so entertaining. They were dancing and screaming. I learned a lot of new chants for the teams and players. Also, the moves to go along with it. Although by next summer i wont remember anything.
The game started off slow, but finally started to pick up. A fight almost broke out! The way all the players from both teams rushed onto to the field was everything! Loyal teammates hahaha...
These lights are way too bright. I took a picture on the way back from the bathroom from a higher view.
We were already winning by the 4th inning, but by the 8th we smoked the Doosun Bears! This was the most intense and most fun time!
So much passion and enthusiasm from the fans! The fans made the game so much fun, no matter what section you sat in everyone was cheering, dancing and singing. This was the victory cheering with the dancers in the background.
Ahhh sweet victory. Now the teams are heading out! Great game!
After the game we came down so we could take pictures closer to the field. My typical pose.
We all those these guys were super cute, so I asked them to take a picture with us. They are examples of what I want my Korean boyfriend to look like, but not as skinny!
After the game, fans of the LG Twins were outside continuing with their cheers and chants. I love this! No drama, just joy.
I had so much fun at the game. Especially since it was a baseball game and I don't even like baseball. The fans made me enjoy it, plus the beer. It sucks we waited until the end of the season to see a game, but I'm glad we finally did it. Next summer I will definitely be going at least once a month!
