So today on my itinerary I had Myeongdong and the Lantern festival. Unfortunately, because of the ferry incident near Jeju Island the festival was turned into a mourning procession to remember those that perished.
So we decided to go to Myeongdong and just take it from there. Myeongdong is a large shopping area and a big tourist destination. Also it is very very busy! This is a place to go if your feeling the need to shop and aren't liking the Korean brands you see everywhere. I made the mistake of getting there around 5pm, which was not a lot of time.
I would suggest going early in the morning because there are so many walking streets and stores to cover. I only ended up at 5 because we took about an hour in each store. H&M and Forever 21 are my go to stores since they have a variety of clothes for every occasion.
But, these stores were SO overwhelming, there was 4 floors of women's clothing at Forever21 with so much clothes it took me at least 30 min on each floor to look around and see stuff that I liked. H&M was 2 floors devoted to women but the 2nd floor was more basic clothes I wasn't interested in buying. I definitely would have done some more damage if I started early. There was lots of shoe stores I didn't get to look around and makeup/facial care stores. I had a lot of fun!
