Anytime you travel there is that paranoia about roaming charges. Lucky in Korea there is a lot of open WiFi around Seoul. But before you get to Korea there are some apps you should download . These apps will help you get around the city and communicate with those who do not speak English.
KakaoTalk- Kakaotalk is a free instant messenger app. Everyone in Korea uses this to text their friends for free and to make free phone calls! This is a great app to have so you have a way to talk to your family and friends. You can use this app with WiFi, but you need to have a valid phone number to register.
Subway Navigation- This is a subway map for Seoul. This map gives the fastest route to your destination, train schedules, train arrival alerts, etc. With this app you can find your way around Seoul, Daegu, Daejeon, Busan and Gwangju.
Learn Korean- This app will help you learn basic phrases and also more complicated phrases. This app is great because it talks so you can learn how to say phrases correctly. Great thing is internet is not required!
Visit Korea 3.0- If you are going to be a Korea for a long period of time you need this app. You can find restaurants, festivals, hotels, shopping etc. information all on this app.
