Everyone in Korea is coupled up. If you are too, then there are so many things to do in the city that won't make you feel awkward or lonely. Typically, when I think of date night, dinner and a movie pops into my mind. There is nothing wrong with a dinner and movie date, but why not do something different. If you are going to do dinner and a movie then make it an experience to remember. I don't know about you, but for me, effort is huge! I like when a guy takes time to plan out a date or asks me what I want to do because I know I will choose something that they probably have never done. Even if it doesn't work out, the date will be memorable.
Here are some fun and creative date ideas you can do whilst on your first date or to make your date nights more interesting.

Who knew indoor fishing was even a thing? Well in Hongdae, it actually is. I didn't think I would actually like it, but I had a blast. I actually went on a date to a fishing cafe and had so much fun I took my friends back there! It was my first time ever fishing and I found it to be quite frustrating but satisfying.
Cine de Chef Movie date at CGV
Expensive date idea 150,000won+
I know what you are thinking; this just sounds like dinner and a movie! However, this is a dinner and movie date that is not made for everyone. Cine de Chef is a 5 star dinner and movie experience. Basically, you come to the theatre before your movie starts and have a French/Italian two or three course lunch or dinner made by amazing chefs. After your meal is over, you are taken to your movie theatre. There are different types of theatres to choose from: Tempur Cinema with tempurpedic beds; sofas with different styles or chairs; or electronic chairs. All of these options come with a drink and cookie. They all have a menu beside your seat where you can also order wine and other drinks. If you don't finish your meal you can also bring it along.
Indoor Rock Climbing
Moderate date idea 50,000won+
If you are a competitive couple why not try something like rock climbing. At Sports Monster, there are actually a variety of different sports you can play indoors. Sports Monster is an indoor sports complex inside of the Starfield Hannam Mall. A day pass is only 25,000won/pp but so many different activities are included in it. There are 4 different zones to experience; Digital zone, Exciting zone, Basic zone and Adventure zone. Within these zones you can do activities like playing basketball, bike riding, climbing, dodgeball and more! Technically this is not in Seoul but is close enough to be added in this list.

Massages are one of the best things ever created, but they are also quite expensive, especially in Korea. Luckily, Koreans are very innovative and have found a solution for that! They are called healing cafes! They are basically cafes with massage chairs but not the crappy ones you see in the malls, these ones actually give you a full body massage. You are able to choose which kind of massage you would like; stretch, full body, back, etc. Then after your 50min massage, you get to choose a beverage of your choice. The beverage is included in the price you pay at the beginning, which makes this a very affordable date.
Rollerskating rinks used to be a thing of the past, but not anymore. I found out through some of my students that Korea actually has rollerskating rinks. It was a lot of fun but obviously not the same vibe as back home. Here, they are very hellbent on safety, so you have to wear elbow pads, knee pads, etc. Nonetheless, it is still a fun time skating around the rink and would be a fun date.
Vintage Arcade Game Date
Cheap date idea FREE!
Who doesn't like to play arcade games? Now a days arcades are a thing of the past which is what makes them so fun. In Itaewon there are two popular places you can go to play these games for FREE! The first is Fountain, which is a popular nightplex. They have a dance floor, restaurant and arcade games. If you enter before 12am it's completely free! Also, you do not have to buy anything to play the games or to stay there. The other place is fairly new and it is called Jack's Bar. It also has free entry and some classic arcade games to play.
Moderate date idea 100,000won+
DIY cafes are very popular throughout Seoul. One that I really loved was the perfume making class. There are so many scents to choose from and it was really fun to do smell tests. On your date, you could design perfume scents for each other and exchange them as gifts to one another.
Seoul Botanical Garden
Cheap date idea 10,000won+
Seoul Botanic Gardens officially opened in May of this year. It's a great date idea because it's a very peaceful place to walk around and take in the nature. The garden is located in North Western part of Seoul, in Gangseo-gu. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seoul. Outside of the indoor garden, there is a field where you can even picnic. So, make sure to bring snacks or buy some from a convenience store.
Korean Alcohol Tasting
Cheap date idea FREE!
For those of you who do not know, Sool Gallery is a Korean alcohol exhibit. Foreigners can sign up for a free tour and sample different traditional Korean alcohol like soju, makgeolli and wine. You get to learn a lot about how Korean alcohol is made and the significance of the alcohols.
Cheap date idea 40,000won+
The escape room buzz has seemed to die down quite a bit, however there are still an abundance of them in Seoul. Going to an escape room is great for a first date because you get to see how compatible you will be as a couple. If you are already a couple it will show you either strengths or weaknesses in your relationship. Escape rooms test your ability to be patient, problem solve, communication skills and much more!
Cheap date idea 12,000won+
Cafes in Korea were not just made for bloggers and vloggers, I actually think the majority are made for couples. To be more specific, cafes like Princess Diary, Arriate and Florte. Princess Diary is a wedding dress cafe. A lot of couples go here and take pretend wedding photos. Arriate and Florte are both beautiful flower cafes. Here you can pose with different flower backdrops, it's really romantic! Of course there are other cafes like animals, toys and desserts to choose from as well depending on what you like.
Moderate~Expensive date idea 100,000+
Korea never ceases to amaze me, as it's always full of surprises. This, is one of those random surprises. Buenos Aires is an Argentinean restaurant in the heart of Seoul. The menu consists of special Argentine dishes, that are amazing. What makes this restaurant unique is that they have tango shows from actual Argentine dancers every night. Take note, the tango show is at 8:30p on weekdays and 8p on Saturdays. This restaurant is the epitome of romantic! If you are looking for a different dining experience, then Buenos Aires is perfect for you!
I don't know about you, but I enjoy going to pop-up exhibits. Korea also has so pretty bomb ones too. What makes them more fun, is that they are only available for a short amount of time. The last one I went to was the Stranger Things Exhibit. The wait was long but it was worth it.
