Happy New Year! Last year on New Years Day I was working. This year I was actually able to go out and celebrate. Unfortunately New Years eve was on a Thursday night which I worked until 10 pm. I would have loved to go into Seoul to celebrate but that would entail me rushing home to drop off my work stuff or taking it with me and also rushing my outfit and makeup which I was not going to do. Instead, I wanted to go somewhere close to home so the next best option would be Suwon. I haven't had a lot of wine since the wine train in the spring so I thought about trying to find a wine bar. There were a few that I found but they closed a bit early. Eventually Jung found a place on Naver called Callia which had really good reviews so we decided to go there. For 16,000 won you can get unlimited wine. Not bad! First we started off wine tasting four different types of wine; rose, white, dry red and sparkling. I like all of the wines except the white, it literally tasted like dirty socks, not that i'd ever tried it, but if I were to imagine how it would taste it would be like that. There were four of us and we all ordered food as well but no one took pictures because we were too hungry. The food is not horribly expensive, pasta ranges from 13,000 won~ 20,000 won. The lounge closes at 2 am which is when we left. I was already drunk by the wine tasting, I have such a low tolerance to wine now. I didn't take a lot of pictures until we were leaving because we were all talking and I was distracted by conversation. This booth is actually where we were seated. It's really comfy and they have blankets as well. It's a really cozy and cute bar to visit. There is also a basement floor that is a beer and whisky bar which is where the bathrooms are located. They have bottles of wine everywhere throughout the lounge. They even had a table with wine bottles in it. It was so cool, I've never seen one before. These ceramic Santas were by the cash register. I thought it was strange how their tongues were the same colour as their skin. Outside of the lounge is a cute dog. It was freezing outside though I hate when people leave their pets outside. Although the dog is really cute and also very friendly beware it smells really bad, so if you pet it make sure to wash your hands immediately or they will smell really bad. To end the night of course we ended up near home at noraebang! We paid for two hours and actually got an hour and 20 mins service because our remote wasn't working and then our food was late. We ended up leaving after 6 am. All in all it was a great night and I'm happy I didn't go all out this year.
