Gangnam: Dashing Diva, Flower Cafe & SPC Square

30/11/2015

I haven't gotten my nails done in forever and I remembered passing this huge nail salon in Apgujeong Rodeo that looked really nice. Apgujeong Rodeo is the Korean version of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. I don't see a resemblance but the expensive boutiques and fancy cars definitely give it that feeling. I decided to dedicate my Saturday to pampering myself. Koreans don't really do real pedicures where they actually scrub your feet, most places a pedicure is just applying nail polish. I've wanted to visit Dashing Diva since I passed it last year but just never did.

Dashing Diva is a two story nail and beauty spa. It is a famous international brand which you will see in the spa. Services include manicure, pedicure, eyelash extensions, waxing, etc. On their website they recommend booking a reservation but I went without one and was immediately sat down at chair. I went around 4pm on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. Most of the ladies that work there speak some English so it was easy to communicate. I received the Divaroma Pedicure plus French tip for my nails which are an extra 7k, no idea why though. For my manicure I wanted the Classic Diva manicure, but with gel polish and a design. They give you three different colour palettes with hundreds of shades to chose from.

Pedi prices
It was truly a diva experience, I had one girl doing my feet and the other my hands at the same time. I loved the experience, plus the interior is really nice and girly. What sucks is if you already have gel nails on when you go there they charge 3k per nail which is hella expensive. I'm used to places doing it free when I get a new manicure. Also gel is hella expensive, you are charged 50k extra. Yes, it is a little bit of a rip off but essentially you are paying for the experience. I will definitely go again but next time just do nail polish because it's so much cheaper.

Getting spoiled
I showed the girl a picture of the nails I wanted and she did an amazing job trying the copy the style. My whole manicure experience was amazing. She did such a great job, I've never seen my nails and cuticles look more perfect! My pedicure experience was great too but I couldn't see my feet most of the time. I am so satisfied with the nail salon. They have great hours and are open until 10 pm. Perfect for girls night!

My oh so cute nails! Holiday ready.
Today I was just trying to hit places that I had been meaning to go for some time. I was supposed to go to the Beats by Dre movie theater but I was too late for my movie. Instead, I headed to Gangnam so I could go to Agreable Cafe. I randomly passed this place going to a dog cafe and I knew I needed to go back there soon. So I finally went. You guys know about my cafe craze, I've been to plenty of cafes around Korea but I've been slacking lately. Walking up to the cafe you can see all the plants and chandeliers from the outside.

Agreable Flower & Cafe
They have a pretty good menu but of course it is overpriced. I just ordered a hot chocolate to go. As I waited I just went around taking pictures of the flowers. The cafe wasn't as busy as i imagined to be and i'm glad it wasn't. The plants are actually for sale in this cafe. They even have flow arrangement classes.

They have a great selection of plants and flowers.

I love the flower in the basket arrangement and the assorted colours of the poinsettias. Makes me think I should take a flower arrangement class for fun.

I love cacti. I can't wait to get my own place and decorate. I will always have fresh flowers even though I will probably not take good care of them.

I think these are the only type of plants I don't really care for. I'm not sure what they are but I wouldn't buy these.

Agreable cafe is right around the corner from SPC Square, so I decided I would go there for dinner. They have an amazing selection of food, from Italian to German. I always go to Vera pizza when i'm alone, the pizza is so good! You can really taste the difference between brick oven pizza and electric oven pizza.

Obviously the pizza was delicious, I mean look at it. I ordered a medium, which has 6 slices. It's basically a personal pizza, I was quite full. The medium size pizza is 9.8k won so it's not expensive at all. But the prices vary depending on what pizza you order.

Hey, this post is quite old so I dont know if you will see this, but I was reminded of my vacation in korea a couple of years ago while reading this. My experience at Vera pizza was quite different though.I dont know if I was just being stupid because you have to order electronically or something like that but nobody took my order while I was waiting at the order area. I ended up just leaving because everyone ignored me. So just out of interest if you still remeber it: how did you order there? (I'm not a native speaker so please excuse mistakes :D )

Hi Sarah,

Sorry you had a bad experience at Vera Pizza! However, it's not just you. I've had that experience at other restaurants I've been to and also left. I find that in Korea most of the time you need to call someone over to take your order. I know it's weird, but customer service is not a big thing here. Hopefully the next time you come for a visit it turns out much better! Thanks for your comment!!
