Edae is the area around the Ewha Women's University. There are lots of places to shop and this area is also known for it's cafes. I found a couple cafes online that looked interesting, so I finally decided to visit. First stop was Raintree. This cafe is quite small but very popular. Lucky for me there was an empty floor table, where I really wanted to sit. Other people who came in after me left because there was none left. The interior of this cafe is really interesting. The drapes make the floor seating a little bit more intimate, even though I was alone ㅋㅋㅋ. The theme is clearly travel. There are maps all over the cafe, on the walls and on the tables. At every table there are photo albums of the owners' travels around the world that you can look at. Also, since it is winter, plus there is no central heating, they have blankets to make you feel more relaxed and cozy. And my selfie of course! This is where you order your food. They have an interesting selection of hot drinks like latte, hot chocolate, teas, shakes and they even have lassi drinks. There are a lot of post cards and souvenirs at the front as well. It makes it interesting to look at. Of course the tree leaves as well. Above where I was sitting, I saw this branch with different objects hanging off of it. It looks as if they are tokens from a trip taken. I wanted to at least be in the cafe for an hour, so I brought work with me, which made me look less lonely. So I prepped some of my classes for the week while I waited. My food took a little long to come out, about 15 min, since there was a big group of girls ahead of me. I ordered a chai latte, which was delicious, and a fruit pancake, which was even more delicious. It was a little pricey, but hey I did come for the atmosphere, plus I didn't eat breakfast so I was starving. Chai latte- 6.5 won ($6.50) Fruit pancake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and powdered sugar (fruits- apple, banana, kiwi, orange, pineapple)- 9.5 won ($9.50). I think it took me about 5 minutes to eat most of that pancake. It was so delicious, but I ate way too fast and got full. I was also there for about and hour and a half, which i didn't plan on. I love going to cafes! Everyone has a thing they love to do by themselves, this is mine. Except I hate always having to take selfies, so maybe i'll bring someone with me next time. I tried to go to another cafe called Afternoon tea but it was too full for my liking, so I will try again another time.
