I'm so excited to say that I finally went to the beats by Dr. Dre movie theater. It's been on my to do list along with a whole bunch of other things. This theater is at Cheongdam Cinecity in Gangnam. This movie theater has a copious amount of specialty movie theaters. I plan on visiting this theater a lot in the next 10 weeks. The seats are really comfortable, they recline a little and have wide armrests. One side of the theater seats four people and the other seats six. I don't own a pair of these headphones but they are said to be some of the best headphones. Hence a movie theater dedicated to them. These are not just regular headphone, they have amazing features like noise cancellation and premium sound quality; which is why I fell asleep so easily. I've worn headphones before which actually hurt my ears, but these had really soft padding so you don't even feel them on. Each seat in the theater has it's own headphones on a stand. When you enter the theater an attendant give you covers to put on the headphones. You don't even need to wear headphones as the surround is still played (but why bothering going here?). I actually went to see Macbeth because the other movies in the Dr. Dre theaters were all in Korean. The movie had a lot of action but I just find Shakespeare so dry and the seats were so comfortable. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I wanted to take my own pictures in the theater but I came late. So I took some pictures outside the theater. Outside the theater they have a display with the beats headphones with the prices which retail between $280-400. Talk about steep prices! I'm not sure if you can actually buy them here though. Surprisingly, the movie ticket only cost I think 12 won, which is cheap considering regular movies at about 10k. If you are looking for a new experience, this would be it. I usually don't go to the movies because I find it so tedious, but I will be going a lot more just because of these specialty theaters. Getting there: Take the Bundang Line (yellow line) to Apgujeong Rodeo and take Exit 5. Once you exit go straight and take the first right on to a small side street (Eonju-ro 172-gil) and continue straight until you hit Apgujeong-ro 48-gil and make a left. Follow that street down until you get to a main street and you will see CGV on your right. It should take about 12 mins. Go up to the 8th floor to buy tickets.
