The amount of flower cafes in Seoul has soared in the past year. It's funny because I used to hate flowers but always loved to photograph them, but now I love flowers/plants and have even been buying them for my place. I came across Arriate on some random person's instagram post and have been wanting to visit ever since.
This cafe is unique because its not located in Hongdae like most of the theme cafes, this one is actually in Gangnam. I wrote a blog post about another flower cafe I went to around that area.
Arriate is a greenhouse with a large variety of plants and flowers that need the humidity to survive. Don't be surprised at how warm it is when you walk in! The aroma of fresh flowers and plants also hit you when you walk in. Both fresh and dried plants are hanging from the ceiling giving the cafe a romantic wisteria flower paradise atomsphere.
This cafe is actually very inviting and relaxing. It wasn't overcrowded and noisy, which you would typically expect at these types of cafes as everyone eagerly wants to get the best shots and have no regard for others at all. The cafe was actually not very busy, so you didn't feel uncomfortable or like you needed to rush so others could be seated.
Other than being a greenhouse, Arriate is also a teahouse. They have lots of fresh/dry herb teas, black teas, coffee and even mojitos. It was too hot for me to drink tea, so I got a mojito. It wasn't the best one i've ever had but it did cool me down. They also have snacks like waffles and bread. With every drink you order you get a little flower, but not to keep! It's just basically for photo ops.
I defintely went photo crazy and for once was not self conscious taking selfies all over the place ㅋㅋ! This place is beautiful and even a great place for a date ?.
I really did not want to leave this place... I was there almost 90mins just giving myself a mini photoshoot. I visited this place in the late afternoon, however I'm not sure if timing plays are role in the quietness of this cafe.

The closest subway station is Yeoksam. Take exit #7 and walk straight uphill. It is just past the GS gas station. They are open everyday from 11am to 9pm.
