Just when I think I've seen every type of cafe there is to see in Korea another one pops up! Miss Yoon in Wonderland is an Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant and lounge located in Gangnam. Who doesn't love Alice in Wonderland!? This restaurant make you feel like you followed Alice down the rabbit hole to have dinner with the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, March Hare and friends. Miss Yoon is truly unique and has one of the best theme decor I have seen. This interesting restaurant is located in Yeoksam area of Seoul. Many corporate buildings and high rises make up this area, so there isn't much going on here.

This restaurant has 4 floors; Dining on the 1st floor is for dining, the second is off limits, the third is a bathroom and smoking area and the fourth floor is where the rooftop lounge is. On the 1st floor you can also find an additional seating area above the bar. It is not considered an actual floor because it has low ceilings and cannot fit a lot of people. Click the video below to take a peek inside the restaurant.
Miss Yoon's has recently become popular because the restaurant was featured on a drama called Fight for my Way. Since then, it has been flooding with customers, mostly mature ladies. This place is expensive and you can easily spend over ₩50,000 with an entree and a drink per person. The best thing to do is to share a meal if you want to buy drinks, unless you don't mind forking over ₩15,000 for a beer! The decor inside is a mix between an enchanted garden and romance with a touch of victorian gothic. Nonetheless, it was still absolutely brilliant. I wonder who comes up with these cafe and restaurant concepts in Korea. I also am curious how they would do in North America...

Miss Yoon's menu is not that extensive. Here you will find meals like some brunch options, pasta, pizza, rice, fried chicken, etc. However, they do have food that is unique. In the menu you will find a red heart beside the dishes that are the most popular. I would suggest sharing a meal to keep the cost down. We ordered octopus with squid ink rice. The table next to us ordered the same thing and it smelled amazing, it looked a bit strange but I'm always for trying new things. The octopus was actually fried and had batter on it which was good, the rice was even better minus the extra hot child pepper I accidentally ate. All in all the meal exceeded my expectations.

Obviously, most people come here for the decor, as did I. The only thing that threw me off was the girl with the blonde pigtails on the back of the bar stools. Alice is that you? Hmm.. I wondered if the roses were real, they looked very real. I wish they incorporated more of the Red Queen or Mad Hatter in this space. You can see subtle Red Queen references but very few, the emphasized more on Alice. Throughout the restaurant the Disney Alice in Wonderland is played on all the screens.

Make sure to take the spiral stairs by the kitchen to check out the additional seating area. The ceiling is quite low so you may have to duck. The space has a few more tables with an area where you need to take off your shoes. There is also a DJ booth at the top of the stairs. I'm guessing at night this place turns into the lounge.

Make sure to take the elevator to go up to the rooftop. It opens July 28 for pool parties but you can take a peek. They have cabanas, a pool, shower facilities, great views and obviously a pool. Inside the elevator has some pretty trippy wallpaper.
