Top Attractions to see if you are visiting Osaka

I've always wanted to visit Japan, but Tokyo mostly because it is the most popular city in Japan. Unfortunately i couldn't go to Tokyo, instead I went to Osaka. Lots of people flock to Tokyo, but Osaka actually has a lot of great attractions and is worth a visit.

Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is one of the most famous landmark's in Japan. There is so much history regarding this castle. You can actually go in certain parts of the castle for a fee. The best time to visit would be spring because of all the cherry blossoms surrounding the castle.

Tempozan Ferris Wheel

Tempozan ferris wheel is located by the Osaka bay and offers great views of the surrounds area. The ride is about 17 minutes long and costs about $6.

Dotonbori

One of the most popular Osaka attractions, Dotonbori runs along the Dotonbori canal. Dotonbori has a popular entertainment area with nightclubs, restaurants, karaoke, and bars. There are lots of illuminated billboards and signs which is what people remember about this place.

Universal studios

Everyone knows Universal studios. There are two in Asia, one in Singapore, the other in Osaka. But the Osaka location is the only one with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Asia. 

Shitennoji Temple

Shitennoji Temple is one of Japan's oldest temples and the first one to be built by the state. The outer temple grounds are free but you have to pay to go inside.

Umeda sky building

Umeda Sky Building is made up of two 40 story towers that connect at the top. The Floating Garden Observatory is on the top floor and gives you a 360 degree view of Osaka.

Sumiyoshi-Taisha Shrine

Sumiyoshi Taisha is the main shrine in Osaka. It has beautiful gardens and landscape which is perfect for taking photos.

Shinsekai

Built as a model of New York and Paris, Shinsekai has a lot of history. It is an old neighbourhood near Downtown Osaka. The Tsutenkaku Tower gives you a panoramic and unobstructed view of Osaka.

Owl Family

Owl Family is a cafe that houses owls. It is quite the unique experience to have coffee then pet owls. There are one hour slots starting at 10 am. It is free to enter you just need to purchase a drink. There are strict rules that you need to follow to ensure you and the owls safety. It may be difficult because most of the workers don't speak English but there are rules written in English.
