2017 has been a very adventurous year, as I finally travelled to places I had been wanting to go to since I was young. Each year that passes brings about feelings of excitement, curiosity but also anxiety. I love reflecting on all the travelling I have done each year as it is a sense of accomplishment.
Visiting Europe was definitely the highlight of all my travels. I was able to visit 5 European countries; France, English, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Switzerland and have so many memories. Here are my 2017 travel highlights, I hope you enjoy! Zurich, Switzerland
Switzerland was not a place that really peaked my interest. However, I was planning on going to Europe and wanted to see as many countries as I could in 2 weeks. I also wanted to visit Liechtenstein and while doing research I found the best way to get there is from Austria or Zurich, so I chose the latter. To me, Zurich is short on the attractions, but it is a beautiful city.

Kitakyushu, Japan
I hadn't even heard of Kitakyushu about a month before I booked a flight to visit there. Years ago on Pinterest I saw a picture of this beautiful wisteria tunnel and was determined to find it (which was this year), so I booked a flight so that I could see it for myself. Kitakyushu is a quiet city but there is so much beauty here.

Luxembourg
Luxembourg is an amazingly beautiful city! I only stayed in the country for a day which seemed to be enough time to see the city. Even though I though the city lacked attractions, the landscapes were so amazing they made up for that! I could have spent all day just looking at the views from the Casemates.

London, England
The place I was most excited for was London. I've always wanted to visit this city for so many reasons (ie. Spice Girls, English accents, Afternoon Tea) and I was finally able to do. London is very expensive and I really didn't think it was achievable on a budget, but I was wrong. This city is amazing and has so many fun things to do. I wish I could've stayed longer here. This was definitely the highlight of my year!

Beijing, China
Beijing pleasantly surprised me. After travelling to Shanghai I had low expectations for Beijing. I actually really liked this city so much I went there twice. It's a lot less congested and pushy than Shanghai. Also, there are so many things to do here that I didn't have enough time to do everything thing I wanted. The Temple of Heaven and Great Wall were absolutely amazing!

Vaduz, Liechtenstein
I only visited this country for about 3 hours but the views are amazing! For such a small country it leaves such a large impression! However, I probably will never go back because it's quite expensive! Liechtenstein is very underrated. There aren't a whole lot of attractions but the natural beauty alone should draw people in. It's honestly worth a visit!
Paris, France
Everyone knows Paris is always a good idea, as there's nothing not to love about this city. Paris is one of the most popular destinations for so many reasons. Let me just say, the Eiffel Tower is amazing! There's nothing better than seeing it with your own two eyes. This city is one that will never get old, I can't wait to go back!
Colmar, France
Colmar has a gorgeous fairytale-like village. The old town has many medieval/renaissance style buildings, monuments and cobblestone streets. It is very picturesque and is a fun place to wander around. It literally feels like you are on the set of a fairytale movie.
