So last night my coworkers invited me to party in Seoul with them. This was my first EVER nightlife experience. I've been waiting almost 2 months to go out clubbing, since I wanted to have another female come. Of course I was with all guys because the other teacher didn't come out. Hwaseong is a 40 minute bus ride to Seoul and the bus stops right in Gangnam. It was really busy, nighttime is when Seoul comes alive.
Our first stop was Gangnam as we waited for another co-worker. We went to a bar called "Lose Control" . Apparently it's usually pretty busy, but tonight no so much. But it was a pretty chill place. No cover to get in and their bottles aren't too expensive. There is a pool table and I think I saw a dart machine. We were there for about an hour and a half, we split a bottle of absolute which was $60. The music was good, lots of hip hop and house, just what I like. It is a mixed bar, there are Koreans and foreigners.
Next we went to Apgujeong. It is a 10 min taxi ride from Gangnam. We went to a bar/lounge called "Bunker". This place was pretty fun! They have small bucket drinks for $15, pretty cool. The music was good; it was a mix of house, hip hop, pop mostly like everything.
Lots of very drunk people in there!! So beware of people spilling drinks on you! This place was pretty full. You get stamped when you come in so your are allowed to leave and come back. No line ups. There's a great mix between foreigners and Koreans.
After this we went to "Monkey Beach 1 & 2". Monkey Beach 2 is more like a bar, its got a pool table and Foosball table. This is a fun casual place to go to. On the other hand Monkey Beach 1 is a club. For Monkey Beach 2 there is no line ups. They also have bucket drinks. Beers are $3 for any type!
At Monkey Beach 1, it is packed! Its like a basement club. The music is great, its a top 40 mix. There is a lot more Koreans here, but foreigners as well. Definitely a fun time here! The line up can be quite long, but there is no entry fee. The club is open until 6 am.
