The next morning I woke up hungry. The only place I knew how to get to with out getting lost was the restaurant in my hotel called "hit the spot". So I went there alone to have breakfast. It was good but kind of expensive. I paid 17,000 won for an omelet with home fries, bacon, sausage, salad, bread and coffee. At Denny's in North america it's like $8. But I can't complain because I didn't want to get lost.
After this I went to the convenience store (in the hotel again lol) just to look around, then found out the have alcohol :o. Of course I bought myself a bottle of wine because it was so cheap. This bottle cost me 1,200 won; in Canadian that's like $1.20. Alcohol is sold at all convenience stores and grocery stores which is great for me. It is also super cheap too! I spent most of this day relaxing after my long ass flight and feeling a bit jet lagged.
Later on in the evening I met up with some fellow trainees to go for dinner. This would be my first actually exploration of Seoul. It was pretty chilly out. The other trainees and I decided to walk around and sight see in Gangnam while we find some place to eat. It was so lively for a Sunday evening. Lots of people were out and about. Lots of bright lights on every store. There were so many restaurants I recognized like McDonalds, Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Dominoes Pizza, even Taco Bell surprisingly; they even had a red carpet up to Taco Bell, how funny is that? I thought I would have culture shock coming to Korea, but to be honest I haven't experienced any at all. Walking through Gangnam reminded me of walking through Manhattan, which could be the reason why. It looked familiar which made me feel at ease.
After walking around for about 45 min and not being able to decide where we wanted to eat, we finally settled on Bibigo. Bibigo is acasual dining restaurant that serves healthy and fresh Korean Cuisine. I ordered bulgogi (beef) Bibimbap, which was really good. It was the first time I had ever had it. It was about 8-9,000 won. It came with soup and two side dishes of mushroom and the other thing I was not quite sure but I ate it anyways. After this meal we all decided to call it a night since training started the next morning.
